Wargame<\/h1>\n

Military miniatures have an undoubted power of evocation of the past, while they bring us back to, in Rilke’s words, our true homeland, childhood. A wargame is nothing more than a sophisticated version of the tiny soldiers games of our childhood, when history and adventures were indissolubly linked together. And as it could not be otherwise, 1898 Miniatures is born with the aim and the desire that grown children like us imagine the past playing with our miniatures.<\/p>\n

To this end, as unfortunately specific rulesets for the Cuban War of Independence and the Spanish-American War are non-existent, we will propose scenarios and adaptations of the currently most popular rulesets to this exciting historical period, plenty of possibilities from the point of view of wargaming: no quarter given mambi ambushes in the Cuban manigua to the cry of ‘al machete’, raids in the trochas\u00a0‘with lead and torch’, assaults to entrenched tagalo villages in the heart of the jungle of Luzon where ‘one gets tired of killing’, actions against the ‘moor’ pirates of Jol\u00f3 and Mindanao or courageous defenses in the face of overwhelming American superiority, who immediately regarded the Spaniards “magnificent enemies”. All this in the form of free articles by seasoned players of the\u00a0wargame scene.<\/p>\n

Wargame<\/h1>

Las miniaturas militares tienen un indudable poder de evocaci\u00f3n del pasado, al tiempo que nos remontan a, en palabras de Rilke, nuestra verdadera patria, la infancia. Y el wargame<\/i> no es otra cosa que una versi\u00f3n sofisticada de los juegos de soldaditos de nuestra ni\u00f1ez, cuando historia y aventuras eran t\u00e9rminos indisolubles. Y como no pod\u00eda ser de otra manera, 1898 Miniaturas<\/b> nace con la aspiraci\u00f3n y con el deseo de que ni\u00f1os grandes como nosotros imaginen el pasado jugando con nuestras miniaturas. Para ello, como desgraciadamente no abundan los reglamentos espec\u00edficos de las guerras de Cuba y Filipinas, proponemos escenarios y adaptaciones de los reglamentos m\u00e1s populares del momento a este apasionante periodo hist\u00f3rico, con un enorme potencial desde el punto de vista de los juegos de estrategia: emboscadas sin cuartel mambises en la manigua cubana al grito de \u201cal machete\u201d, incursiones en la trocha \u201ca plomo y tea\", asaltos a aldeas atrincheradas tagalas en el coraz\u00f3n de la jungla de Luz\u00f3n en las que \u201cse cansa uno de matar\", acciones contra los piratas \u201cmoros\u201d de Jol\u00f3 y Mindanao o corajudas defensas a ultranza frente a la abrumadora superioridad del estadounidense, que enseguida tild\u00f3 al espa\u00f1ol de \"enemigo magn\u00edfico\". Todo ello en forma de art\u00edculos gratuitos a cargo de curtidos jugadores del panorama del wargame<\/i> nacional.<\/span><\/p>
